FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS/PREPARATION GUIDE

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I am based out of Taylorsville, North Carolina and I travel regularly to sessions throughout NC, SC, VA and TN.

WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?
Sessions are typically booked 1-4 months in advance. I do try my best to accommodate those with immediate needs. Contact me for current availability or to discuss a session.

HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
To book a session, we choose the perfect package for you and discuss outfit changes/number of horses that will be in the session and then choose a date/time. After all the details are worked out I will send two separate emails that include the digital contract and the invoice for the non-refundable deposit. After the non-refundable deposit and digital session contract are received, I will email you a digital welcome guide that includes tips and information on how to prepare for your session!

Step 1) THE CONTRACT:
This step is super simple. Session contracts are sent via email and include all the important information for our session including your reserved day/time, package details, rescheduling policy, releases and usage and so much more. Once you have read over the entire contract there is a button to sign the contract digitally. No printing, scanning or mailing is required.
Step 2) THE DEPOSIT
The next step is the deposit, a 50% non refundable retainer/deposit is due at the time of booking the session. The retainer/deposit can be paid using a debit or credit card and will be sent using Square. The remaining session balance will be due on session day and can be paid via cash or a debit/credit card. The session time and date is not booked or secured until both the contract and deposit have been received.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WEAR, CAN YOU HELP ME?
Of course! After the contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid, I will email you a digital welcome guide with tips and information on preparing for your session and the guide will answer a ton of questions you may have about choosing an outfit. I am also more than happy to help you pick an outfit that will compliment you and your horse! The welcome guide is extensive and has information detailing how to prepare yourself, your horse, the location and everything in between to ensure a smooth session that is stress free.

I'M NOT SURE IF MY PROPERTY WILL WORK FOR A SESSION?
Most of the sessions I photograph are on the property where the horse is located, most properties offer a variety of scenery but if you prefer to haul off site I do have venues and locations available to recommend.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR A BLACK BACKGROUND SESSION?
For black background sessions I do not use artificial light. I use 100% natural light coming from the entrance to a barn aisle or indoor arena. Be sure to sweep/rake the areas and have the areas clear of any objects in order to have the largest area possible. If your barn or location has multiple areas that would work we can discuss which area would work best. I recommend that the horse be photographed in a bridle or a fitted leather halter, if no tack is the preference, the horse can be photographed with a leadrope around the neck and it will be removed later on in post production. Braiding/branding is a great touch for sessions as well!

I DON'T SEE THE SESSION I WANT TO BOOK ON THE WEBSITE? 
All sessions are fully customizable and include a personal print release for you to have the ease of printing the digital images at your leisure. The personal print release also includes permission to use and post the images on personal websites and business pages of the client.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY DIGITAL IMAGES?
Turnaround time is typically 3 weeks from the session date. Expedited services with a 48 hour turnaround time are available for an additional fee (Prior arrangement/notification of rush services is preferred but not required). Digital images are delivered in a private online gallery that will allow you to download the images directly to a mobile device or computer. Online galleries are active for a minimum of 3 months from the day the gallery is sent, after the 3 month period, the gallery will be archived. If the digital images need to be resent at any time after the 3 month period, they can be resent at no additional charge.
